She gained fame playing Lala, the influencer in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, and sweet Chitti in Stree 2 but The Ba***ds of Bollywood has made her a star. As the no-nonsense, super confident Sanya, rising star Aasmaan Singh’s manager, Anya Singh, is in total boss mode. Anya, who stuided at Mayo College Girls’ School and Sri Venkateswara College, made her debut in the Hindi film industry with Qaidi Band in 2017. Anya has since portrayed a series of interesting characters. But being Sanya has elevated her to a different league. Did she take tips from Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani? “Aryan had put everything in the character,” Anya says. She just had to bring it to life, which she did with style.
Versatile Priyanka

An actor’s life is a study in uncertainties. So it is with Priyanka Bose, who has just returned from The Wheel of Time to a glorious reception for Raam Reddy’s Jugnuma which released in September. With Kanu Behl’s ‘Agra’ on the anvil, the films have showcased the diversity of Priyanka’s work. “It’s important to remain ready to receive work when it comes and to protect my energy,” says Priyanka, speaking on the long fallow periods in between work. She’s excited about actors turning producers and is open to the idea of curation and collaboration.
Short and Sweet

Piyush Thakur’s short film, The First Film, gets to travel to foreign film festivals, carrying with it a love for cinema and storytelling. The film is set in 1960s India. It was shot in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, in a cinema hall, with help from the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, which allowed them to use promotional material related to Mughal-e-Azam. Thakur, an FTII editing graduate, says his film is for cinephiles. “I love the golden era of Indian cinema and my film is a tribute to it,” he says.
