Omega Seamaster Plante Ocean
The Seamaster Planet Ocean Collection has remained a strong symbol of OMEGA’s ocean heritage since 2005. But the new Planet Ocean 600M goes further, epitomising the finest in watchmaking craft with Master Chronometer certification and its innovative new design.
The cases of the 39.5mm and 43.5mm models, as well as the 45.5mm chronographs, are made from 18K Sedna™ gold. Most impressively, the dials and bezels have been created from ceramic, a sleek effect that is enhanced by Liquidmetal® or Ceragold™ numbers and scaling.
For the first time, rubber has been blended with ceramic to create a vibrant new diving bezel. This can be seen in several models, where orange rubber covers the first 15 minutes. The straps are also made from rubber with an anti-bacterial treatment. Even on the water- resistant leather straps, rubber has been included on the underside for comfort and functionality.
OMEGA has also created grade 5 titanium versions of the Planet Ocean that feature sandblasted titanium dials and grey silicon nitride bezels. The metallic effect adds a unique edge to the collection.
Jaquet Droz’ Petite Heure Minute Thousand Year Light
The Petite Heure Minute from Jaquet Droz is a decorative masterpiece, created to celebrate the beauty of flowers and of the women whose wrists it will adorn. With an off-center subdial at 12 o’clock, the craftsmen of Jaquet Droz have awoken the spirit of Pierre Jaquet-Droz. More than merely being useful, the concept of Time becomes poetic, leaving the free space on the dial open for artists to express boundless creativity. A true master painting, the creation of the Petite Heure Minute saw the most stunning skills of the Jaquet Droz Ateliers d’Art come to life: enameling and miniature painting, by way of dazzling settings and astonishingly realistic sculpting and engraving.
A flowery landscape in shimmering colors was inspired by the “Najeon Chilgi” method, which involves mother-of- pearl encrusted lacquer. Its golden age was during the Goryeo dynasty (10th-14th centuries), when aristocratic ladies would order sumptuous jewelry boxes requiring months of work. On the Petite Heure Minute Thousand Year Lights, the center of the 35 mm or 39 mm diameter case offers itself to the gaze of a pastoral bouquet. The ephemeral beauty of its wild and free flowers are frozen in place forevermore, brought to life in a display of sheer mastery. The richness of colors comes to light as their tenderness is revealed with a touch of intense red, while the silver glimmer of leaves goes hand in hand with minute details only made possible through the mother- of-pearl intaglio. The mother-of-pearl is first lacquered, then polished with great care. The craftsmen engravers then bring out the minute volumes through hand painting, imbuing these floral tableaux with incomparable shine and the mirror effect of light glistening upon them. Reinterpreted by Jaquet Droz, this ancestral technique brings out the brilliance and dazzle of the dial like never before, earning this exceptional piece its name: “Thousand Year Lights.”
Longines Dolcevita
Dolce Vita means the “sweet life” in Italian. The DolceVita collection from Longines has been exclusively designed for women. Indian brand ambassador, Aishwarya Rai, identifies with the elegance of the time piece and represents the easy and good lifestyle the brand stands for.
The DolceVita is wonderfully designed with a dual tone of stainless steel and 18 carat rose gold. The bezel shows off 32 Top Wesselton VVS (a diamond hue) diamonds which add to its opulence. The most interesting features of the watch is the white flinque dial, which involves a technique of engraving with intersecting concentric lines that are coated with a layer of enamel. This adds a distinguished touch to elegantly crafted timepiece.
Rado Hyperchrome Ultra Light
Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan recently unveiled Rado’s featherlite collection at a new store in Noida. The actor, who is light on his feet, couldn’t help marvel at the collection.
The Rado HyperChrome Ultra Light is crafted from a trio of featherweight materials and components: silicon nitride ceramic, hardened titanium inserts and a movement with anodized aluminium bridges. There are non-ceramic highlights too. The HyperChrome 1616, for instance, truly breaks new ground in comfort and durability with its use of a new titanium hardening treatment. This treatment makes the titanium 5 times harder than watch-making steel while being only half its weight.
Golden Age Tissot Prestigious
The Tissot Prestigious in gold is a timeless addition to Tissot’s diverse collections, and an alluringly chic option for women. The bold design is inspired by the Golden ‘20s, the time when all of Europe embraced fun and frivolity post-war, and this sense of light-hearted vivacity is interpreted in a bold rectangular case shape and intricate detailing at the centre of the watch. Further sophisticated touches, including the ceramic cabochon in either black or white on the crown, add a coolly contemporary edge.
The collection has five versions to pander to every woman’s desire. These are: a classic silver dial with brown leather strap in yellow or rose gold, a black dial with rose gold and black leather strap or a shimmering mother-of- pearl dial with diamond indices with white or black strap.
